ABOUT DRPC

Who is Donna Rumble?

DONNA RUMBLE PROFESSIONAL CORPORATION (DRPC)

Twenty-one years ago, Donna was an enthusiastic nursing student ready to take on the world. Twenty-one years later her enthusiasm has not changed. Starting her own private practice, Donna Rumble Professional Corporation (DRPC) operating as Supreme Caregiver Support, Supreme Foot Care, and DSUPREME has helped her to pursue leadership opportunities within home and community care as a private caregiver.

Donna's journey began in Home and Community Care as a visiting nurse, in 2001. She worked for agencies like Bayshore Home Health, Acclaim Health, and Victorian Order of Nurses (VON), caring for patients with a life-limiting diagnoses and those who were recovering at home from acute and chronic illnesses. She then transitioned to Long-term Care and Retirement Communities in 2004, where she provided client-centred care working within a muti-disciplinary team. Later she became a CHAP Worker (Community Helpers for Active Participation), providing respite care services for families with children with developmental disabilities and complex medical needs. In 2014, she was called to Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing and to Hospice Palliative Care, in 2018. Donna has since obtained certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse and a Hospice Palliative Care Resource Nurse.

Since completing her Psychiatric Mental Health certification, Donna has served the memory living community in various clinical settings for patients with responsive behaviours to Alzheimer's and dementia. She has also provided nursing care to people experiencing homelessness, addiction and serious health problems. In her private practice, she embodies the roles of Patient Liaison and Patient Advocate to caregivers and families in and around her community

Donna is committed to fostering therapeutic  relationships, client and family-centred care, evidenced-based practice and continued education. She is a current member of the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) and the Registered Practical Nurses Association of Ontario (RPNAO).

Mission

PROVIDING PRIVATE IN-HOME NURSING SERVICES

Supreme Caregiver Support and Supreme Foot are nurse-led professional nursing services that offers private nursing services and supports to caregivers and families. We provide relief to caregivers from care-giving roles and responsibilities and assist them to find a healthier balance for their lives. Caring for the caregiver is not new, in fact, caregivers are more likely to be at risk for role strain when their responsibilities become overwhelming and they experience burnout. It can happen to any of us if the proper resources are not available. That is why we have reached out to Home and Community Care Support Services (formally known as CCAC, Community Care Access Centre) to be added to their list of resources available to caregivers. Our goal is to build and maintain relationships with community members and partners while establishing a community presence. We also want to ensure that caregivers are aware of the private services we offer.  At Supreme Caregiver Support, we support communities by providing clinical case management to clients, families and caregivers. We coordinate and provide private nursing services for seniors, clients with end-of-life care needs, children and adults with developmental disabilities, and diabetic clients with various high and low risk foot problems. Some of our clients do not qualify for home and community care support services paid for by the government of Ontario, and decide to purchase private services from us.

Supreme Caregiver Support is not an agency, nor are we contracted by Home and Community Support Services to provide healthcare services. We are a private, independent professional nursing practice, federally incorporated and also registered for business in the Province of Ontario. We are known as a non-contracted resource to Home and Community Care Support Services. We do not provide emergency medical services. If you have a medical emergency, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency department.

Supreme Foot Care is a mobile medical foot care clinic that provides individuals with regular foot care treatments to prevent and/or manage signs and symptoms of a wide range  of foot problems.

Vision

LEADING NURSE-ENTREPRENEURIAL EXCELLENCE

Supreme Caregiver Supportaims to  lead nurse-entrepreneurial excellence by successfully demonstrating an alternative working model for nurse entrepreneurs. Nurses in independent practice, or "nurse entrepreneurs", may be a great resource to home and community care when eligibility for government funding is not met by community members. CNO has a practice document that outlines the legal responsibilities and obligations of all nurses in independent practice, to enable their safe and ethical decision-making when practicing. Maintaining professional accountability and understanding relevant legislation is essential! Read the Practice Guideline.
