At Supreme Caregiver Support™, we support communities by providing clinical case management to clients, families and caregivers. We coordinate and provide private nursing services for seniors, clients with end-of-life care needs, children and adults with developmental disabilities, and diabetic clients with various high and low risk foot problems.
Role Description
This is a contract on-site role for an Independent Practice- Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) at Supreme Caregiver Support located in Burlington, ON. The RPN according to the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) will:
be self-employed for the purpose of providing nursing services , and/or operating their own nursing business
provide a wide range of services, including, but not limited to, direct nursing care, care coordination, consulting services and education
have a nursing practice that is diverse and include a direct or indirect effect on patient care or on healthcare systems
be incorporated with the Ontario Government
You will be accountable for
complying with the expectations in the College's practice documents
following the College's requirements for ongoing continued competence by participating in the QA (Quality Assurance) Program
providing services according to the legal scope of nursing practice and your individual level of knowledge, skill and judgment
obtaining business and legal advice as needed to identify, understand and comply with the laws that apply to your practice (for example, laws relating to privacy, employment standards and taxation)
accepting new clients with health needs that can be met by the nursing services you provide
adopting new policies for accepting new clients, discontinuing the nurse-client relationship and managing client care, with the goal of meeting clients' needs and providing safe and ethical nursing care
obtaining professional liability protection in accordance with current regulatory requirements
Qualifications
Currently registered in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario as an Registered Practical Nurse (RPN)
Self-employed, as defined in the role description
Successful completion of an accredited Practical Nursing program
Valid CPR Health Care Provider (HCP) and First Aid certification
Experience in long-term care, community care, and/or acute care settings
Qualifications in either Hospice Palliative Care, Mental Health Nursing, Basic/Advanced Foot Care, Gerontological Nursing, and/or Alzheimer's and Dementia Care would be an asset
Demonstrated ability to provide safe, competent, and ethical nursing care
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and/or 12-hour overnight shifts
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
